Royal Coachman Reviews
The Coachman – Waterdown & Burlington’s Finest Pub Vibe If you're looking for that classic pub atmosphere with an unmatched draft selection, The Coachman is the place. Between Waterdown and Burlington, no spot quite captures the essence of a true local pub like this one. The layout is organized, the vibe is relaxed, and although parking can be a bit tight—let’s face it, you can’t win 'em all—it’s worth the effort every time. Tuesdays are a hit with Trivia Night, making it a perfect place to unwind, test your brain, and enjoy a pint or two. The staff? Top notch. From the bar crew to the floor team, everyone’s got great product knowledge and a solid handle on service. A special shout-out to Lee (even when he's in “do-not-disturb” mode ), and the always-welcoming Angel and Carissa—super friendly, professional, and accommodating. Now, let’s talk about the real star: the fish and chips. Absolutely phenomenal. The fish is fresh and perfectly battered, the fries are crispy and golden, and even the slaw is top-tier. It’s one of those meals you genuinely look forward to. The Coachman in Waterdown isn’t just a top-tier pub—it also has one of the best patios around Surrounded by mature trees, it’s cool on hot days, cozy when it’s chilly, and the perfect spot to kick back outdoors. Full food service, fully licensed, and yes... the draft is still ice cold. Inside or out, this place just gets it right. Shoutout to the awesome staff (you too, Lee ) and that unbeatable fish & chips. #BestPatioVibes #WaterdownEats #CoachmanPub #ColdBeerHotDays Keep it up, Coachman crew—you’re doing everything right. Can’t wait for my next visit.
Fantastic service, great food and the atmosphere is phenomenal. Not many traditional looking pubs left but this is still one of them. The staff is very friendly and the patio in the spring/summer is a must.
A great spot with a great patio. Food is surprisingly excellent. Well thought out and executed. Service was great and well paced. Be warned, the nachos are huge unless you have five or six people. For three they were a challenge.
Great dinner, one of the best fish and chips in the area. Great service, great food and cool venue adds up to a perfect night out. You have to try the sticky toffee pudding the best. Highly recommend
We were met at the door and guided to our seats even though the sign said to seat ourselves. We were given our menus right away but were allowed enough time to get comfortable before our waitress came to get our drink order (a real treat as this establishment has pink lemonade). She returned in perfect time to take our food order which was brought out to us incredibly quickly. We received huge portions of delicious food at very reasonable prices considering how much we were given. The server was friendly and even took some good natured teasing in stride. This was a fantastic experience.
Very pleasant experience at the coachman. Our server, Jordan, was terrific and accommodating. We told her we had no real time to eat and she got us in and out in no time! Portions are generous and quality is great. The only gripe I have is there is an unpleasant smell, likely due to the carpets.
The Royal Coachmen really impressed me! The chicken wings were some of the best I've had—crispy, saucy, and full of flavor. We also tried the cauliflower bites as an appetizer, and they were perfectly cooked with just the right amount of sauce. A great start to the meal. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and the service was fast and friendly. Whether you're stopping in for a quick bite or a full meal, this place delivers. We'll definitely be back!
I have been here twice and each time the food is absolutely delicious! Their outdoor patio is my favourite! The flowers are beautiful and the high top Maskoka tables are extremely comfortable. Parking is suffice in the back lot. I love the variety of their menu. It’s not cheap, but it is worth it. My husband is hard to impress and he loved his meal (mushroom and Swiss burger).
